	South Central TN Development District, Rural Public Transportation operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. SCTDD Buses do not operate on Saturdays, Sundays, New Year’s Day, MLK Holiday, President’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and any other holiday designated by the Governor.
	SCTDD contracts with the senior citizen center in each of the 13 counties within our district. Transportation service is provided to everyone based on nondiscrimination practices. Our vehicles meet ADA requirements. Our Job Access grant provides transportation to persons meeting income guidelines. Transportation is provided for adults to and from their home and workplace, including their children to daycare if necessary. Most counties also have a contract with TennCare and Families First to transport their clients to their pre-approved destination. We promote a drug free workplace. Drivers are adequately trained on a wide variety of topics to prepare them for their job duties. Safety is very important.
	SCTDD has been providing rural public transportation for over 20 years. We have grown to approximately 75 vans and 100 transit employees. We serve a geographical area of 13 counties, which is over 6,400 square miles. We implemented a drug free workplace in 1996. A safe and efficient transportation service to as many passengers as possible is our goal.
